The festive season is often a busy time: between family gatherings, festive meals and the race for presents, it can be difficult to maintain a sporting routine. But it's not impossible! At SPART, we encourage you to get moving while enjoying the festivities. Here are some practical tips for staying active and earning maximum XP this festive season!

 

Why exercise during the holidays?

As tempting as it may be to slack off completely, incorporating sport into your holiday routine can help you manage stress and get more out of the season. As well as giving you a moment to yourself, exercise helps to compensate for unavoidable overeating and maintain your energy levels. Staying active during the holidays is essential to your well-being.

 

How do you plan your workouts for the holidays?

All you need to do is get organized, so you don't give up on physical activity. Adapt the number of sessions and their duration to your availability. There's no need for long sessions! Set a time slot in your diary to avoid unforeseen events, and stay committed to your exercise routine even before Christmas.

 

Which sports are best for the festive season?

For the more motivated, opt for activities that don't require a lot of time or equipment. A 45-minute run or a quick HIIT session is more than enough during the holidays. HIIT (high-intensity interval training) can be done in 30 minutes and combines dynamic exercises like burpees and squats, with short breaks. You can also do SPART challenges or simply take advantage of this period to increase your daily step count. Sporting activities in winter are ideal for keeping fit.

How can you eat intelligently without depriving yourself during the festive season?

Our advice: don't diet before the holidays. Enjoy your meals without guilt, and rather than depriving yourself, plan a little post-holiday detox. Light dishes such as soups and fish are perfect for resting your body and eliminating toxins. And don't forget to adjust your diet to help you recover after exercise.
