Pink October: fight breast cancer at work

Every October, the world rallies around an essential cause: the fight against breast cancer. This movement, known as Pink October, aims to raise public awareness of the importance of early detection and to support affected women. Indeed, according to a survey conducted by the Ligue contre le cancer, one in two women is unaware of the risks associated with breast cancer. Yet breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. As a company, you can play a key role in this campaign by taking concrete action.

Pink October: understanding and taking action against breast cancer

Launched in France in 1992, Pink October is an international breast cancer awareness campaign. The movement aims to :

- Information on early detection: Detecting breast cancer at an early stage increases the chances of cure, with a survival rate of up to 88%(French National Cancer Institute).

- Supporting patients and their families:Many associations take advantage of this period to collect donations and provide support.

- Mobilizing public and private players:Institutions, associations and businesses are encouraged to get involved.

- Offer screening days: In partnership with a health center or an association, organize workplace screenings.

- Be flexible to encourage screening: Encourage your employees to go for screening by giving them a special day or half-day off every October. You can also consider flexible working hours to facilitate medical appointments.
